Vessel Name History

Vessel was built as Laurence J. Gallagher; laid up after the war, it was sold for commercial operation by the Maritime Administraiton on March 3, 1951.  At some future point, the vessel, now named U. S. Red River, was reacquired by the Maritime Administraiton and sold for scrap.
