USS Cimarron (AO-177) (Non-retention)
The USS Cimarron is a single shaft, steam turbine propulsion, steel hull, 700-foot long oiler. The ship was laid down on May 18, 1978 by Avondale Shipyard, New Orleans, Louisiana, and was launched on April 28, 1979. Cimarron was commissioned on January 10, 1981. Last homeported at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, it was decommissioned on December 15, 1998 and transferred to the Maritime Administration on July 28, 2001. The ship currently sits at the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet awaiting final disposition.
