Technology is
a major thrust of this Center and we want to provide the latest information about what is
happening aboard ship, as well as in the laboratory. We will provide information
from existing data bases, as well as from conferences, universities, and vendors.

GloBallast R&D Data Base
– created and maintained by the IMO Global Ballast Water Management Program, this is
a searchable data base of abstracts of international ballast water treatment R&D
projects. |

Shipboard
Installations – initially, information will be provided in various formats on
systems that are installed aboard ship. However, as the number of shipboard
installations increases, tabular comparisons of cost, design, and performance will be
added. |

Non-Shipboard
Systems – in addition to the limited number of treatment systems installed
commercially aboard ship, there are a growing number of systems that are being tested in
laboratories and limited scale shipboard tests. Information on these tests, as well
as links to vendor supplied information, are available here. |

Supplied Information - this section includes reports, papers, and links to websites
for those vendors supplying treatment systems as well as other ballast water management
