Eric Gabler has worked as a transportation economist for the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) since 1985. He has worked in the US DOT’s Maritime Administration’s Office of Policy and Plans since 2009 (having previously worked there from 1985 to 1988). He has also worked in the Policy Office of the Secretary of Transportation; the Federal Highway Administration’s Office of Asset Management; the Airport and Policy Offices of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); and the Office of Commercial Space Transportation (now part of the FAA). He has authored US DOT guidance on economic analysis methods to evaluate highway and airport projects and has completed or participated in numerous studies on transportation economic subjects.
