John Hoban

John Hoban has over 30 years of Federal financial management experience. He started in Maritime Administration in 1987 as the Director, Office of Accounting. Over the next 23 years, Mr. Hoban has held many different positions in the Agency, including Acting Director, Office of Budget, Director, Office of Resources and Deputy Associate Administrator for Budget and Programs/Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to his joining Maritime Administration he served as Deputy Accounting Officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). While employed at FEMA, Mr. Hoban’s positions included Chief, Division of Accounting Systems, System Accountant and Budget Analyst. Before joining the federal government, Mr. Hoban held the position of Comptroller for a public corporation.

Mr. Hoban holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Donna, have a daughter, and reside in Springfield, Virginia.
