Cargo, Vessel, and Crew Tracking: Systems to monitor the routes and contents of vessels are necessary to eliminate possibilities of tampering.


Comprehensive Security: There are critical needs for system updating and integration with other modes through coordination and physical restructuring.


 Port Readiness: Support vessels and cargo, as well as defense systems at ports, must be maintained, monitored, and ready in times of conflict.


Piracy and Stowaway Prevention: Minimizing the threat of ship seizure and stowaway's as a tool for terrorist, creating a safer industry and ultimately a safer country.


Secure Communications: Warning of possible threats and the ability to maintain security during conflicts is vital for the maritime industry.


Weaponry and Warfare Logistics: Advances in certain sectors of military equipment and planning require the coordination and ability of other sectors to adapt to new systems.
