Corridor Development: Linking the movement of freight and passengers along corridors can ease congestion, reduce pollution, and save time.

Ferries: Commuters and small cargo loads can be delivered via ferry systems often much more efficiently than via traditional highway and rail systems.

Intelligent Transportation Systems: Using technology to manage transportation systems can aid in the safe, seamless transition of cargo and passengers between modes.

Intermodal Systems Improvements: The projected increase in overseas trade over the next decade and beyond has led to a focus on shifting the transport of goods from highway and rail facilities to waterborne alternatives.
