Role and Purpose
The North Atlantic Region office, located in New York City, accomplishes all MARAD programs for this region consistent with directions from headquarters. The region covers the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and most of the states of New York and Pennsylvania.
Major Activities
The Region Director works directly for the Maritime Administrator and is responsible for the following activities:
Provides financial support services for programs within the regional area;
Supporting or conducting supplementary training for licensed and unlicensed personnel in the maritime industries; and
Participating in regional port and intermodal transportation development activities, including environmental activities.
