Robert Whitney
Senior Advisor to the Administrator
 

President George W. Bush appointed Rob Whitney to serve as the Maritime Administration’s Senior Advisor to the Administrator for Maritime Policy on May 25th, 2008.  In this role Whitney manages all policy, management and administrative issues of the agency requiring executive level attention. Prior to this appointment, Whitney had served as Special Assistant to the Administrator

Before to joining the Maritime Administration, Whitney served as the Campaign Manager for Congressman Gus Bilirakis’ (FL-9) initial election to Congress in 2006 as well as the Political Director for Former Congressman Rob Simmons (CT-02).  Whitney also managed a public policy and grassroots activists foundation in Virginia focused on state budgetary and transportation reform. 

Whitney graduated from Christopher Newport University with a degree in Political Science.  He and his wife Jennifer reside in Vienna, VA with their two sons.
