David J. Rivait
Chief Financial Officer
Dave Rivait joined the
organization as its Chief Financial Officer on June 11, 2007. Pri or to
his assignment at MARAD, Dave served as the Associate Director for
Performance and Budget at the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP),
which is part of the Executive Office of the President. His office had
oversight responsibility for the Federal Government’s $13 billion drug
control budget, funded across 19 agencies. He also assisted in the
development of ONDCP’s own budget for its $470 million in drug control
spending. Dave has nearly 16 years of service at the White House,
including positions at ONDCP and the Office of Management and Budget.
Prior to
his recent tenure at ONDCP, Dave served for four years as the Assistant
Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Treasury Executive Office
for Asset Forfeiture. This office is responsible for the Treasury
Forfeiture Fund, which collects revenue from the property of those
convicted of serious Federal offenses and uses these resources to fund
law enforcement programs.
Dave
graduated in 1982 from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois
with a degree in Economics. In 1984, he earned a Masters Degree in
Public Policy from what is now the Gerald R. Ford School of Public
Policy at the University of Michigan. He began his career in 1984 as a
Presidential Management Intern in the Office of the Secretary of the
Treasury.
Dave
currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. |
